Leaders in Reimagining Equity and Inclusion in the Nonprofit Sector (Certificate)

A New Take on the 8-Week Nonprofit Management Course

As allies, accomplices, and co-conspirators working to end systemic oppression in nonprofits, we know that it’s not enough to just be aware of racism, sexism, etc. Instead, we must be willing to put in the work necessary to radically reimagine how we lead organizations, how we fundraise, and how we are accountable to the communities we work with. We must push back against “best practices”, the “standard ways of doing things”, and the White supremacy cultural characteristics that have long been embedded in our sector.

This is NOT your typical 8-week nonprofit management course. Building nonprofits that are truly inclusive, that promote equity, and that have spaces of belonging and psychological safety means moving beyond what is normally taught in nonprofit management classes. We can’t just train or teach each other how to continue the practices and skills that we’ve been using for so long – and the same ones that have kept White leaders in power for generations. Instead, over the course of two months, you’ll learn how to think differently. You’ll be challenged as to how to infuse equity, inclusion, and belonging practices and policies on a regular basis. We’ll brainstorm together, discuss specific strategies and plan actions that we can take. We’ll share how to radically reshape nonprofit structures, policies, and practices to be fully anti-oppressive.

So, if you’re ready to be challenged and moved to act, then come, and join us. This course is best suited for mid to upper-level nonprofit professionals, board members, and those of you looking to start your own nonprofits.
