Halfway through 2026: pause, reflect, and use Internal Family Systems to assess, recalibrate, and choose your path for the rest of 2026.
We're nearly halfway through 2026—and a year and a half into relentless crisis, political backlash, and compounding loss. Many of us are operating on autopilot, shaped by exhaustion, urgency, and survival mode. This workshop offers a pause: a chance to check in with yourself, assess how you're actually showing up, and make intentional choices about the second half of this year.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) offers a powerful framework to explore the different parts of ourselves that have emerged or intensified during this sustained period of crisis. The part that pushes through no matter what. The part that shuts down when it gets too hard. The part that's angry, the part that's numb, the part that's trying to hold everything together.
Through guided self-reflection, journaling, and discussion, this workshop will help you identify which parts are driving your decisions right now—and reconnect with the grounded, compassionate Self that can lead you forward with clarity and intention. Although rooted in Western psychology, IFS will be shared through a decolonized lens in this space.
What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a model of self-exploration that helps us recognize we are made up of different "parts" that shape how we think, feel, and respond to the world. Some parts work to protect us, while others carry burdens from past experiences. At our core, we each have a Self—a grounded, compassionate presence that can lead with clarity and wisdom.
By learning to understand and engage with our parts rather than being controlled by them, we can:
Develop greater self-awareness and emotional regulation—especially during prolonged crisis
Make values-aligned decisions rather than reacting from exhaustion, fear, or urgency
Show up in our work, relationships, and communities with more authenticity and sustainability
Recognize when we're operating from survival mode and create space to shift
This workshop provides a non-therapeutic space for self-reflection, helping you explore how different aspects of yourself have adapted to 18 months of crisis—and how to lead yourself forward with intention.
Why This Matters Now
After a year and a half of constant political assault, community loss, and institutional retreat, many of us are carrying parts shaped by trauma, urgency, and overwhelm. These parts may be keeping us functional—but they may also be keeping us disconnected from our values, our relationships, and our own needs.
Equity and justice work requires emotional resilience, self-awareness, and the capacity to engage in discomfort without burning out or causing harm. By exploring our parts with curiosity rather than judgment, we can:
Recognize when we're operating from reactivity, fear, or depletion
Process internalized oppression, bias, and survival strategies with compassion
Build the emotional capacity to sustain ourselves through ongoing crisis
Show up in community spaces with more clarity, care, and self-leadership—even when it's hard
This is not a therapy session, but a structured space for personal reflection and recalibration—helping you assess where you are now and make intentional choices about how you want to move through the rest of 2026.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is for anyone who's feeling the weight of this moment and wants to pause, reflect, and reassess. Whether you're an activist, DEIB practitioner, leader, or community member invested in collective liberation, this space is for you. No prior experience with IFS is necessary—just a willingness to slow down and look inward.
